Lutein and Zeaxanthin are types of carotenoids naturally found in fruits and vegetables. They are the only two dietary carotenoids that accumulate in the retina to support vision health. Importantly, the human body cannot produce these two nutrients; they must be sourced from foods or supplements. However, since lutein and zeaxanthin are fat-soluble nutrients, their dosage form and bioavailability are limited.
