The groundbreaking ceremony was held today (9th).

Aligned with ESG trends and future regulatory standards, the new factory—Gin Hwa Biotech Plant II—will feature intelligent systems including green manufacturing, automated warehousing, smart logistics, wastewater recycling, and solar energy generation. Together with the original Yong’an plant, the two facilities will operate synergistically to enhance R&D capacity, increase production efficiency, boost order fulfillment capabilities, and significantly contribute to revenue growth.

The ceremony was attended by over 200 dignitaries and guests from government, academia, and industry, including Kaohsiung City Council Speaker Kang Yu-Cheng, Legislators Chiu Chih-Wei, Lee Po-Yi, Hsu Chih-Chieh, City Councilors Sung Li-Pin and Lee Ya-Fen, Finance Bureau Director Chen Yung-Sheng, Metal Industries R&D Centre Chairman Lin Jen-Yi, Former Taitung Council Speaker Wu Chun-Li, Chairman of Hao Shi Pet Food Chu Po-Kai, CEO of You-You Construction Chang Yung-Yi, Eastern Group Vice Chairman Chi Kun-Chieh, Executive Yuan Advisor Lin Yung-Nung, Hong Kong Justice of the Peace and Chairman Lo Ching-Ping, and Huatuo Fu Yuan Tang Founder Chairman Chu Pu-Lin.

Chairman Chen Chun-Hung stated that the current factory is operating at over 90% capacity. Due to increasing order volumes and growing global demand, the company has acquired a 2,000-ping site in Mituo to build a four-story smart plant featuring R&D centers, labs, QA facilities, automated storage and logistics. This expansion will elevate R&D capacity, reduce development costs, enhance food safety oversight, and reinforce Gin Hwa’s core competitiveness—from raw material development to finished product manufacturing.

The Mituo plant is expected to create 200 new jobs, prioritizing local hires to support regional development. Emphasizing ESG commitment, the facility will use solar power and is designed to achieve 50% wastewater recycling, greatly reducing its environmental footprint.
